Bell receives the Environmental Sustainability Specialization through Cisco

Bell is honoured to receive the Environmental Sustainability Specialization from its partner, Cisco. This achievement acknowledges Bell’s commitment to the highest environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards, while enabling customers to achieve their own environmental objectives.

It also recognizes the alignment of Bell and Cisco’s environmental commitments, such as evolving into a circular economy, setting and publicly disclosing meaningful greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets, and implementing an environmental management system.

For more than 30 years, Bell has been committed to reducing the environmental impacts of its operations. As part of its path to a circular economy, Bell has recovered over 4.8 million customer electronic devices for reuse or recycling between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2022 alone. And this progress continues with significant advancements underway including:

  • Achieving carbon neutral operations starting in 2025
  • Reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 57% by 2030 (using 2020 as a base year)
  • Recovering 7 million used TV receivers, modems, mobile phones and Wi-Fi pods between January 1, 2021, and the end of 2023
  • Supporting Cisco’s target of achieving 100% product return on end-of-use hardware – at no cost to Bell customers
  • Offering cloud computing, IoT solutions and teleconferencing, help customers reduce energy needs, minimize carbon footprints and enhance productivity
